Actually no.

I did buy a 110 to 220 transformer to run mine with because that
was a "just plain simple" approach.
The motor is a governed type. I used a magnet, a pick up coil and
a scope to set the speed correctly for 60 WPM operation rather
that the 66 WPM it originally ran at.

A couple of weeks ago, just for grins, I got HeavyMetal installed
on one of the PC's in the shop and had it happily banging away
printing out weather reports and news.
