I have a Flexowriter that is missing one of its rubber feet -- and a
second foot is half-missing. While I'd love to get an original Singer/Friden
rubber foot, I have two feet from which I could make a mould (using, for
example, clay or dental plaster), in which I could cast a replacement. Has
anyone tried this? There are seem to be several alternatives:

a putty-like glob of thermo-setting silicone rubber you can form into the
shape you want (by hand for coarse parts, or in a mould for more
precision). They suggest using hot air guns or ovens to cure it.

two-part pourable silicone rubbers that you pour into a mould. You get a
choice of soft or medium firmness.

I'd appreciate any experience anyone has with these kinds of materials.
