Thanks to your knowledge and generosity, I know a little more about my teletype.

Today, I was able to type using a loop Power supply, and it seemed to work well.
My simplified wiring, involved unhooking the contacts connections and the print coils from existing. 

From the PS, I connected 2000ohms resistance in series with "send" contacts and print coils. 

I would like to describe what I have seen it do and see if this sounds normal to you guys.

When I first got it, the seller had it printing itty and connected from an ST-6 directly to the print coils. 

After getting it home, I have run the motor several times and turned the motor by hand to try to understand the mechanical action. When running the motor, the hammer would stroke, not strike a letter, and the carriage would not move. After successfully typing with it today, something has changed. Now, with the points and print coil unhooked, it continues to type dashes and the carriage moves now. Seems like something is stuck. Help me if you can.
