ok that  confirms  what I thought I saw on the  3500  console  at luke afb 
finance.
 
supply  had  ibm  finance had  burroughs.
 
the  FE  there  would   take panels off and some  me insides of  computer 
etc.
 
he was assigned to that machine... that was his  job that one  machine.

The machines at the time used BCL not ASCII or EBCDIC


Can't remember if the 33 was ASCII orthere was a converter some where or  
it was a custom model that did BCL

Burroughs did use a Model 33 KSR as the console device on  the B5500
computer, but of course this one is for some Honeywell  machine.

Burroughs kept the "normal" Model 33 cover, but had their  own set of
buttons in the call control  unit.
