Well done!  As I say repeatedly, its almost always visual on 32 and 33's.  Check the contacts that were closed all the time due to the armature reset not adjusted correctly.  They may need cleaning with some solvent or contact cleaner.  Put a rag under them to protect the rest of the parts.  You may have to file them if they look pitted or very bad.  I have some used ones if you need a set.  
  
Check the TR PS fuse again to be sure its not blown.  After the above, I would look for your modification wiring to be incorrect.  
  
You do have a manual tape reader, right?  Not an auto one.  Auto has the full Molex going to the TR PS.  
  
All the TR control mods I have seen are done to a manual reader.  Allows the computer to control the TR in Line mode, but in Local the TR should work without any help from the computer.
