George,
GOODness, such interesting offers! No modern home should be without a grenade launcher.
I get offers for beautiful Russian women wanting to be brides, exotic asian ladies wanting an extramarital affair, magical potions to enhance personal capability, the best prices on used cars, and on and on.
I scrupulously avoid clicking the “please remove my name” links, (or any links for that matter) because I understand that serves only to confirm to that you are live person at your address, and no removal whatsoever happens.
Fortunately for me, somehow all these messages wind up in a “Junk” folder and I can easily delete them in bunches each day. I have no idea how that happens, but I appreciate it. Maybe there is some common element in the normally hidden header lines that would help you separate all that junk from legitimate emails.
I know exactly how this got started: I tried out an offer for on-line searching for “hidden” information on someone you are interested in. I used a false name for myself in the tedious process and quit when they asked me for money at the very end. But they had gotten my email address already before I realized it was a scam.
Sometimes the Internet is not our friend.
Oh well. Could be worse.
