Well, I went back to the URL, and it's probably a nice radio,
but, again, who listens to A-M?
NOW - if they had put a band switch into it (or a simple toggle),
and added the coil/cap needed to put it on a shortwave band, plus
a BFO, you might get people interested in SWLing and maybe ham radio.
With coils/caps now the size of resistors, it wouldn't boost the cost
or construction work all that much. I built the 9-band Ten-Tec
regenerative receiver (about 15 years ago) and it is a small, little
box with not much in the way of components. Yes, probably too complex
for a first project - but it didn't cost that much.
I, too, am "rooting" for them, but as has been pointed out,
the era of "building & learning" has long gone.
