These are broadcast on 6328 and 12631 kc most Saturday mornings at 11am pacific.
The last two Saturday broadcasts haven't happened but otherwise it's been very
reliable over the past few years.
I'm less than 40 miles from the transmit station so I don't even really need an
antenna for it, but I bet it could be received at some distance.
MRHS is a great organization and well deserving of any donations one might
throw their way.
You could also use a simple milliwatt-level transmitter to make your own
rtty station for local consumption. I use a AD9850 DDS chip and simple filter
to synthesize FSK directly on 40 meters, with an AVR cpu to generate text.
The unamplified output of the AD9850 is sufficient to be picked up by a
radio in the same room feeding a demodulator and driving a teletype.
