[GreenKeys] why is my crank so small? see inline photo

Just picked up an M14 and it has the exact same small handle shown in your
photo. It comes out the front thru the cover. I believe the larger handle
would not work well in the M14 application as the operator would most likely
hit their fingers on the keys when turning the crank. I will send photos
ASAP.
