Hi all...
Well, our good friend Nick wins the "Kewpie" doll prize for
locating and repairing a real dog of a problem...
I have never in the many yrs spent in the Teletype
repair service encountered a bent selector push lever...
These things are hardened steel, and can't. imagine what
cud have bent it...
You know when I think of it, I once had a M35 typing unit
with a somewhat similar problem. No matter what I
tried, I couldn't. get rid of the intermittent error problem...
After spending too many hours & needing to get the
typing unit back in service, I replaced the entire selector
mech. w/magnets, rangefinder ass'y. and all...This did
eliminate the problem, but did humble me somewhat.
You did a great job Nick...Tks for sharing this very valuable
tech. lesson with us all...
Cheers!
