I rather large program I worked on had a helium re-liquifier, several
high pressure storage tanks and a low pressure recover storage tank.
We were having problems with ice blockages in the re-liquifier.
I went out to the recovery tank with a small lecture bottle to get a
sample of the helium to check for impurities.

What I got was a bottle full of rusty water.

When I talked to the vendor that put the system together, "Did you
evacuate the system before filling it with Helium?"
Their answer was "What? I was empty when we finished."
Well, not exactly empty, it was full of moist air.

Sigh.....
