Rick,

BTW, welcome to the list!

You will only install one new vinyl hammer of course and have a spare on hand. Thanks to Dave Tumey who has made up 500 of these hammers for 32/33 owners.

Rick,

I have one I can spare. I will include a couple vinyl (rubber) hammers that you should install in place of your rubber one which will likely soon disintegrate.

Send me your address.

Hello, all,

I’m new to the list. I used to use Teletype 33ASR’s back in my late grade-school through High School days to connect up to the school education service district’s HP 2000 Timeshared BASIC systems. The high school had a a bunch of ‘em…three that could go online (had datasets built in with rotary phone dials), and 5 ot 6 that were used for offline paper tape preparation.

I recently managed to find a 33ASR in fully working condition, and also very nice cosmetic condition.

I have successfully connected it up using a current-loop interface in my Altair 8800 microcomputer, and it works great.

One thing that is missing on this otherwise beautiful machine is the plastic tube that is used as the paper roll holder. This ends of the tube fits into grooves in the cabinet to hold the paper roll in the correct position for proper paper feeding.

Anyone out there have a spare original one that they’d care to part with, or know of a source where I could get ahold of one?

Thanks to all,

-Rick
