[GreenKeys] Klieinschmidt teleprinter

I can't say anything for sure, but 1953 might have been about the time
when Teletype began supplying Model 28 equipment to non-government users.
My understanding (folklore) is that the military demanded all the early
production of Model 28 equipment, so it was not until sometime in the
1950s that it became available to civilian users, including the Bell
System.

The only Teletype prices I have are from 1978, so if you want to adjust
these backward for inflation to see how they compare with the Kleinschmidt
products

LP about $1400
LK about $500
LESU about $250
LAC about $400
and I don't see LMU listed, so don't know if it was included with the LK
or if it had to be ordered separately but wasn't on the price sheet for
some reason. And the gear set would have to be added.

The Kleinschmidt letterhead is interesting, at least to me. Gives their
phone number as Deerfield 1000 which suggests a manual telephone
switchboard. And County Line road is now known as Lake-Cook road since
it is the border between Lake and Cook counties. I lived in Deerfield
in 1963, by which time it had dial telephones (crossbar switch) and
had changed from a farm town to a fast-growing bedroom suburb of Chicago.
