[GreenKeys] Creed 7B with DC Only Mor

Folks,

 

I know most of the members are probably US based so this question might not
get far, I recently (Well 3 months ago) bought a Creed 7B, which as a DC
only motor strapped for 160-150Volts DC. A picture of the motor plate is

why would any one want a DC only 160-250V motor? Would it be run off the
loop supply?
