well I like the idea of tablet control I could build on into the front
of the museum display and have the screen present some message canned
options

No problems have been experienced with the higher current / lower voltage;
Better engineers could finesse the current limit resistor value and
determine a lower current which still functions. But the selector magnets on the
'15 look beefy enough to tolerate 10x the amount of current we are talking
about here.
Note also, I've added a support for a USB-connected PC keyboard which
allows the laypeople to type on it, which generates *tons* of interest at
hamfests/makerfaires. The tablet interface is OK if you want to save paper.

ok in looking at this.... I notice... "higher voltage and a lower
current, " on the selector magnets.... any problems in the future by doing
this!?

Hi Green Keys -
Just FYI, I published an article on how to interface a current loop tty to
a Raspberry Pi. I have exhibited it at Maker Faires and it is very well
received by people of all ages..
