Thanks to all for responding to my information request, I see it spawned a parts list being posted, thanks Nick.  I will take all the advise given and have decided to inventory all the parts and take pictures and proceed from there.  Rest assured gentleman these parts will not end up in the land fill. 
   Thanks again to all that have taken the time to respond and to give condolences. It is greatly appreciated and warmly received. 

I will be in touch around mid march when I return to Vermont for the next round sorting through Dad's treasures.
