[GreenKeys] Under 40......

I'm now 60 but started out in this hobby when I was 15. Like many kids
growing up in the 1960's and earlier I spent countless hours listening to
SW broadcasts on a big console radio. Was curious about the other signals
being heard and tried to identify each one. In 1970 I met a ham that had an
RTTY setup and that was all she wrote. He was kind enough to sell me
an m14 strip printer (no reperf) that originally printed out on 1/4" gummed
tape. It was another couple of years before I got my first m15 page printer.
Built many TU's, most were with tubes and 88mH coils. Most of my time
was spent coping SW RTTY broadcasts from all over the world but was
also active on the local 6-meter AM traffic net.
Now that I'm retired have gotten back into the hobby. Really miss the SW
broadcasts but iTTY helps make up for it. Still enjoy the sounds and smell
of a m15 and m14 although I also have m28's, Kleins and a MITE.
