That horseshoe magnet might indicate a polar circuit, which could definitely indicate something more akin to the old stock ticker pulsed system.

Your pdf made it through OK.  I think the limit is about 1 MB in size.

The "Model 10 Bulletin Printer" in the ARTS article is different from the Dow Jones Broad Ticker we have. Ours is upper case only.

Enclosed are some pictures of the printer. There is a very large horseshoe magnet under the right side of the printer which you can see in picture 25.
