Silly question:

Is there much of a difference (Mechanically) between a 28 and a 35 reperf?

I never graduated beyond 28.

Methinks I should clarify the nature of the print hammer heads.

The model 32/33 typewheel hammer covers issue was settled over a year ago.

The items I am working on preparing are the TTY P/N 173979 HEAD - as
indicated in a TTY Corp S.O.P. P/N 176138 Mod Kit for the model 28/35 perforator
and reperforator. In this kit the fourth of six components listed on the
list on the part packaging envelope.

These are the cushioned heads that deliver the whack to the tape - thru
the ribbon- and to the selected character on the surface of the type wheel,
creating a darkened image of the selected character on the surface of the
tape being prepared.

Please note that the character printed is six character spaces ahead of
the actual character being perforated by the punch mechanism.

Some mechanisms print the character on the tape feed wheel perforations,
and others imprint the character on the inboard/ upper edge of the tape.

Please examine your machines closely. Any characters printed in sanskrit
are in most cases probably bogus.
