Between yesterday and today, the internal loop supply in the
Fernschaltgerät  failed. So in Lokalbetrieb it would still hold the
selector magnet, but any typing, either with the keyboard or the tape
reader was garbled. That doesn't surprise me, selenium rectifiers and
electrolytic filter capacitors usually don't do so well after 45-50
years.
I hadn't actually tried using the dialer since I bought it in 2007.
I've been mostly concentrating on getting the teletype machine working.
But now that Henning, Heinz and even Fred have "gotten in the loop" if
you'll pardon the pun... It was time to get that working too.
Replacing the selenium rectifier and the electrolytic filter capacitors
solved the Lokalbetrieb  problem.
