[GreenKeys] Current Loop to RS232 with baud rate and character conversion

Hi,
I’m thinking of building a small micro-controller based dongle that will convert from current loop to RS232 and also capture data and retransmit at a baud rate and character encoding more acceptable to current generation PCs. So it would:
convert current loop to RS232
convert baud rate from 45 or 110 to 9600 or 19200
optionally convert BAUDOT to ASCII
I think, with this dongle, any modern generation PC with a basic terminal program and RS232 dongle could probably be used as a substitute teletype.
Before I invest any energy in such a project, does anyone know of anything already out there that does this?
Are there any good descriptions of a general purpose current loop to RS232 floating around? I would preferably want to support both 20 ma and 60 ma current loop.
regards,
Mike Willegal
