Maurie,

Sorry I did not see your earlier post requesting help with gluing tape.
Back in the days of my 28ASR I could make a loop without using glue if
I used chadless tape. Merely hit the letters key multiple times at the
beginning and end of the tape. Overlap the two ends and push the chad
lids through both letters groupings. I think I had a tool designed to
do that easily. It won't come apart easily. Of course if you have a
fully chadded tape, you need the glue.

73,

A while back I posted a request for any info on the availability of glue
for joining punched tape, e.g., to run a loop for the tape reader. There
were one or two helpful replies which mentioned commercially made
products, non of which are available in this country (N.Z).
Well, I had a blinding flash of commonsense and tried using white glue
(PVA woodwork glue) and it is the perfect answer. A small amount wiped
on the tape ends and then positioned makes a good strong join and dries
almost immediately.
I was just surprised that 1. I didn't think of it before, and 2. Someone
in the group surely must have known about or used it before.
Anyway, problem solved and 73 to all.
