Hello to Aukland,

You likely know that there was a tool to join tape ends together - it made a series of punched holes in both tape ends and the chads held the two tapes together.  I thought I had a picture of that tool here, but I can’t find it.

You might be able to simulate the function by punching 5 or 8 characters into the ends of the tape as they pass through a tape retyped/perforator.
