Ed,

In the picture you sent right in the middle is a one hole paper punch. It is mounted on some sort of stand or bracket which is extra, no doubt a WU addition.

The thing is a Presto one-hole paper punch. These sell for $10 to $12 on ebay now.** I have one here I’ve had since the 1950’s I’d guess. It’s very handy for punching a single hole in the edge of paper.

Maybe the teletype use was to punch holes in the end of a paper tape so it could be hung on a hook or nail. Got any idea?

Roy

** Because the apparent value of these things is modest, I am glad I don’t have to ask my security contractor to add more patrols or increase the height of the perimeter fence.
HAH!
