Yes.  It was a standard, 5 bit plus start & stop, TTY signal, but each 
data bit was cut in half to double the throughput. The system used 
special M14 TDs, with 10 data sectors (instead of five) for transmit. On 
receive, regular page printers were used and the range selector set 
lower or higher than normal to pick out the desired channel.
