Yeah, I worked for Packard Instruments and a couple more companies that had the 33's in medical facilities and sometimes worked for the medical people directly.

Most Teletype motor controls have a timer that shuts off the motor after a period of inactivity in the current loop. 5 minutes would be common. The first space received in the current loop would start the teletype. 33's in medical labs had these for readout of different types of multiple sample counters. Scintillation, gamma are two names I remember.

Well, I goofed and sent this post from my other email address that isn’t registered. Trying again from the correct email address.
I came across a couple of what appear to be motor start controls in a box of RTTY parts I picked up at a hamfest recently. These are marked MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATIONS INC, Long Island, NY, Model MC110. There’s a barrier strip w/ contacts for Line +/- , Selector 1 & 2 and a switched 1/6A 120V outlet. The units are marked 5 Minute Delay, which I take to mean when the line contacts go high, the timer starts. My assumption is a teleprinter in series with the box would then power up and remain so for the 5 minute duration, ready to receive a message?. A google search yielded nothing
Does anyone have any info on these units?
Regards,
John WD8INC
