Hi group. New member here.
I'm in the process of restoring an Olivetti T2-CN Teletype.
As-is it's set for 50 Baud, and changing it to 45,5 Baud for ITTY etc. will require adjusting some centrifugal weights etc.
I want to replace the centrifugal governor with something solid state for easier adjustment of speed.
Do any of you guys have any experience building some kind of Triac-control with mechanical or optical pickup of the bell housing or main shaft, governing the speed of the motor ?
The motor in the device is an "universal" motor running on either AC or DC voltage. Running it on DC would make controlling the speed a lot easier, but i would like to avoid going that way.
Instead of going to reinvent the wheel, i just wanted to hear if any of you had any experience doing this.
Regards,
// Per.
