I think I've mentioned this before....
Back in 1973 while working at TRW, our secretaries had IBM Selectrics.
I'd somehow managed to get one of the printer golf balls. They look
the same, but the characters are NOT in the same positions.

So...
Once every so often, I'd sneak up and swap balls on one of the IBM
Selectrics in the office. Shortly afterwards, one of the secretaries would
call me and ask if I could fix her typewriter.

"Sure, could you wander downstairs to the cafeteria and get me a cup
of coffee and a doughnut? I should have it fixed by the time you get
back."

Worked every time.
