We know that cotton ribbons hold more ink but nylon ribbons are more
durable.  I'm not sure of this, but I sorta remember Teletype recommended
one kind of ribbon for certain machines and the other kind for certain
others.  Not that you can't use either kind with any machine, but maybe
there was something about cotton ribbons wearing out too fast on some
kinds of machines.  Or maybe it has to do with cotton ribbons shedding
cottin fibers and nylon having less shedding.

I guess both kinds of ribbon can be re-inked, but maybe only nylon
ribbons last long enough to make reinking worthwhile.
