I suspect the heavy ink load as the new ribbons at the radio stations used
put down a heavy type face to start, but they were usable for a long time.

Thanks Lester for verifying that and to others for all the great hints
on ribbons and where to get them.
I guess the final question is...
there are the inking levels they can be ordered in
from the one source mentioned in this discussion...
TO MATCH UPI/AP WHAT INKING LEVEL WOUD BE CLOSE?
again, thanks ! Ed#

I recommend you don't ask for GREEN!
When I was in High School, I used green ink pens.
I thought they were great!
By the time I finished the 12th spool of green TTY ink,
I was ready to throw-up...
Blue - OK
Navy Blue - GOOD
Purple - REAL GOOD (pretty much the standard)
Black - EXCELLENT
Green - NO
Red - EVEN WORSE THAN GREEN
Ugh!
Sick-serely,
