[GreenKeys] For all the telco and ex-telco guys

American Tower bought a lot of the old AT&T tower sites, but

many of the sites were also bought by individuals, and even some

Hams bought a few.

Unfortunately, many of the sites were full of asbestos and

the "built-to-take-a-direct-nuclear-hit " buildings were sealed.

In my Ma Bell days in the 1970's, as a TTY Repairman/Radioman, I worked

at one of the sites in Long Island, NY. Even then they seemed to

be more like an antique display. Lots of vacuum tubes! And,

one 7-foot tall rack full of 6 Collins 51S1 receivers sitting on

2.182 MHZ!

One of the AT&T long lines sites is near Culver City. It was sold to
American Towers. Located at: 34.005286,-118.363065

I was at the site for a few years between 2004-and 2006.
Very interesting design when you get to look at it up close.
Definitely "bottomless bucket of cold war era money to use."
