That is a really neat video. It brought to mind equipment I used to maintain back in the 80's. If you remember the air traffic control strike, a little known organization called Flow Control, in it's infancy and running in what we would call today 'beta mode', took over all air traffic operations for the duration. It was based in offices of St. Lukes Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla.. The FAA was using Baudot, ASCII, and computer data terminals with standard telco modems, and 20ma telco loops. All that info came into a box that was not too large, but had the capabilities of converting any data mode of the time to any data terminal type on its in/output side. After the strike, Flow Control became a major player for all AT operations, and was relocated somewhere near DC. There went that job, and I went back to just maintaining Model 28's that carried weather info from all over and went to FAA facilities and the 3 Navy bases in located JAX at the time.
