Wouldn't Truman's era have been before the Model 28?

 

Or am I just too young to remember?  :-)

 RTTY Groupies,

 

I have an uninstalled teletype machine that was scheduled for Harry S.
Truman "Atomic Train" to be used in the event of a nuclear war (a rolling
Air Force One command center, sort of). 

 Was never put in service and sat at the depot in St. Louis until 1970's.
Stored in garage since then. Some white spatter from a painting project and
an indicator lamp cover is missing.
 

Storage compartment below even has an original roll of paper. Have several
print heads and a 100 WPM set of gears.
