[GreenKeys] Misbehaving 28 printer. What does one do?

Not much of a Subject. but I'm really at a loss.
I just put a Model 28 printer back into service this afternoon. It was acting up,
and would not come out of the 'online reverse print' mode. So, I thought I would
see about straightening that out.
I put the printer on an RO base and fed loop current to it. I turned it on and it
did what it was supposed to do. Nothing but sit idle with motor running.
So, I put some AFSK into the TU and put it in PRINT. Imagine my surprise when it
printed properly.
Imagine my even greater surprise when it was doing reverse line feeds! I printed
a few minutes of text after rolling out a few feet of paper. I had to occasionally
turn the paper roll to prevent any sort of paper jam.
At the end of each line, it fed DOWN instead of UP and occasionally there were
two reverse line feeds probably to separate paragraphs, etc.
The reverse Line Feeds also occur with the Local LF button.

This printer was intentionally set up to do 'online reverse (direction) printing'.
That was activated with a sequence of characters to activate it and another sequence
of characters to defeat it. When I could not get it out of Online Reverse Print a
month or so back, with the expected stunt box sequence, I just replaced the printer,
and figured to make it right at a later date. Today was supposed to be the 'later
date'.
I was not aware that this printer HAD 'reverse on line Line Feed'. In all of the
playing around I did with it in earlier years, that never happened. I never thought
about that feature. I had seen this done in another 28 printer, many years back, but
still can't figure out what happened to cause this printer to behave this way.
AS THE OLD SAYING GOES, I AM OPEN TO SUGGESTION!
Thanks,
Ralph - W8ROI
