Larry,
That could be, however your word should be scrapped.  Most of the P-3s  
or parts of them wind up in Georgia the keep the others flying.
The P-8 is supposed to replace the P-3 but they have had a lot of  
problems with the gear in the aircraft.

In the news the hopes of finding the Malaysian aircraft are resting  
largely on U.S. and Australian P-3s.
VQ-1 and 2 are still flying them.

P.S.
I recently found out that the VA will provide hearing aids for those  
of us who spent hundreds of hours in and around planes and many other  
Veterans as well.
