As an AF teletype jock I had to go out to the flight line at Kadena AB Okinawa to work on a MITE that was on board a Navy C-130 electronic surveillance plane. I had never worked on one before (nor trained) but was the only TTY jock on Okinawa with a security clearance high enough to go on the plane. Turned out to be a simple repair and I was able to get them communicating with it in short order. Their operator knew how to send and receive messages but admitted he was lost trying to figure out what was wrong with it.

However, I still am looking for one (or more) with a keyboard, especially in the portable water-resistant case. The pictures I have seen of those look neat. Thanks to all who have responded.
