Jack,
I would be interested in an assembled unit. Maybe two (one for my
computer museum club or as a door prize at the vintage computer
festival this April)

I am thinking of ordering another run of my RS232-to-loop PC
boards. These boards provide a transmit/receive high voltage loop to
transmit/receive RS232 interface. The boards are very high
quality and are not cheap...but they are worth it. This board
would be perfect for those Tempest Dovetrons and other TU's that don't
have a HV loop interface. Or, they are just the ticket as an
interface to your PC for Heavymetal or MMTTY.
If there is enough interest, I will order another batch. I also have
a large quantity of the parts, so I can provide them fully wired and
tested,
if desired. Cost would be around $40 wired and tested, plus shipping.
A "naked" board would be $20, plus shipping.
(This covers my cost...I don't want to make money on this, but I surely
don't want
to lose money!) An external loop supply is required.
Please let me know if interested.

Jack K0TTY

For your amusement -
Responding to a request from a TTY-deprived fellow on the commcenter
list, I have created two youtube videos of a M28 printing some
text.....just printing, no commentary, no overview, just a closeup of
printing about 700 words of text...
If you need some audio/video wallpaper, these links will repeat the
videos indefinitely -

Thanks for the great video!
If you guys want a real treat...download it and play it back in VLC
player. Then choose 'playback' from the menu, then 'speed' and keep
clicking the turtle until the hammer is moving veeeery slowly and you
can really see the action in all its glory.
That is so cool!

BOY - does that bring back some memories... I used to repair these
machines for Pacific Bell & Telegraph many years ago. I still got some
of my repair tools that I need to get rid of, anyone interested??

I'm going to guess 8-bit. One of the pictures shows what
appears to be 5 bits on the left and 3 on the right.
Also, the motor seems to be fairly modern.

It's the TD assembly out of a 35ASR. The ID plate says "35B".
Notice the gear for the missing answerback assembly.

Unless you can tell from the picture, you can't tell unless you know
the number following LXD. LXD8nn is 8 level, LXDnn is 5 level.
The LCXB could be used with either.

Jack is correct... I did not see the photos.
I was referring to the CX and DX Readers that are multi-level.

I purchased ($20, IIRC) a program that lets me download any flash video
file playing in a browser and save it locally. Google for "save flash
video" and you'll find some options. The program I bought is on my
computer at home and I don't recall the name. It has some annoyances,
but it works for my purposes.

Hi Raymond,
Well, now I know who Enrico Fermi is.....interesting quote....I will
have us it!
You can input "download Youtube videos" into your favorite search
engine
and find a wealth of free methods to accomplish same. I prefer one of
the "add on" features of my favorite browser Firefox. It can be found
here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flash-video-downloader/
You can find the VLC player here:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html
Good luck and shoot me any questions you might have.
