Hi Nick (and Group):
Well Nick you really outdid yourself on those M28 youtube videos!
Love them. I think more folks on the Greenkeys list need to do the
same with concentrated, focused frontal views of their printers
and tape perfs. It gives one a great sense of the sounds of
these machines, and shows exactly (close up) what they are
printing. Love it, love it, love it, LOL. Sort of like standing
right in front of one of them, watching and reading, and listening.....
(and life couldn't be any better).
Such a method would be a great way to copy ITTY regularly
if someone wants to set up such a "full time" site for us.
While this eats up a lot of paper, tape and may cause wear
and tear on machines, it seems that most folks who have
real teletype machines run them anyway, so might as well
share with the rest of us on a regular, recurring basis.
Just a thought. Such an effort would be greaty appreciated,
especially for a variety of machines that still exist and which
many members still have and use.
The current crop of teletype youtube videos are too short,
the teletypes are too far away from the cameras in most
instances, and often, there is just too much talking-over
by whoever supplied the video.
Hope some folks will give this some thought........
Nick has set the new standard now............this is the way
it should be for close up teletype viewing.....
Regards,
Dave in SC
