Question for those that might know more about these then me. (Not hard)
I found the reason the keyboard was not accurate in sending to the typing
unit was a couple of reasons but one was the fact that the screws, nuts etc.
were loose on the Selector magnet assembly. I have removed the assembly and
see that someone had started to make adjustments and stopped.
Now it is my turn and I have a question. When I reset the selector magnet to
the proper clearance before any other adjustments should I be able to move
the armature to mark or space and it stay there until I move it to the
opposite ? Before it was loading back to the space side when it was idle. I
wanted to be sure before proceeding to the next step.
One other question, the manual says armature adjustment is parallel within
.002 inch but parallel to what?
Oh, it has a 1 3/4 magnet and I have set it at .004 from the armature if
that helps and have the armature adjustment screw backed out at the present
time.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Steve
