[GreenKeys] M28 motor won't start

Sometimes the motor's start winding goes bad, too.
I'd check the capacitor, first.

Operator - "It always does that when I turn it off."
Teletype Repairman - "Don't turn it off".

Subject: [GreenKeys] M28 motor won't start

The AWA Museum has a M28 KSR who's LM3 motor does not always start - just
wiggles a little. If you reach in and give it a push, it then runs OK. I
assume the problem is either the motor start capacitor or the relay
contacts. Is either one more likely to fail??

Could the relay contacts just need cleaning?

Bul. 295 says capacitor is #122245; 43-52UF. Any suggested sources for the
starting capacitor? Grainger has one, but looks like it might be too big in
diameter.

Thanks,

Duncan
