Okay so I spent the rest of my afternoon trying to find much if any
documentation on the UCC-28. Bitsavers shows it several times in their model
33 technical documents but never directly says "This is part number BLAH and
this diagram is for BLAH BLAH". Not really all that useful and now that I've
seen multiple terminal blocks with multiple wiring schemes I'm not even
going to connect it to a phone line to see if it toggles the hook, rings or
dials. Lets explain to telus why I slammed 120v AC down the line...
Jim, you said the TWX CCU has a bajillion wires? Volume 1 of the model 33
service manual (sep 74, page 213) shows a CCU for switched network service
with dual Centronics 50 connectors. Were you referring to that? That's not
what I got. Here, pardon the CR breaking the link (can't make permalinks
shorter) but this is my particular unit.

I've never looked into Telex much because nobody uses it and it was leased
line (I don't believe it was compatible with POTS so again, not risking it)
