Thanks Mike that was EXACTLY what my problem turned out to be. After
straightening the function bar it no longer fires off false form feeds. I
also spent the last week on the side and found out how Teletype interfaced
the CCU's with the Bell 101/103 data sets. Option 198420 was a milti-purpose
module that took in current loop, interpreted commands from the CCU into
serial commands for the modem and returned back commands to control the
lamps on the CCU. There's several pages in Vol. 1 of the Spetember 74
technical manual for the model 33 that goes over this and the operation of
the CCU. My idea of a serial converter and a microcontroller to generate
Hayes commands was exactly spot on. Wasn't really expecting that kind of
technology. Now it's just figuring out how I want the CCU and modem to
behave.
