Jon,

The missing part you need is the "H" plate. It is the mechanical connection between the kybd and the printer. You are correct, it controls the tripping of the distributor. The lever you are holding down is the kybd reset lever. I will attach a pic of a H lever correctly installed and a couple others that may be helpful. Some are of a 33, but they are the same for detail look.

The H lever is almost surely still there under the kybd or under the dial electronics. If not, I will be happy to send you one. Just give me your address.

Make sure your printer is sitting squarely in the 4 rubber feet that support it. Actually at this point, you may as well remove the printer to clean the base if thats what you intend to do anyway. You can also clean the distributor faceplate and do a thorough job of lubing the printer. Every clutch has a felt in it that should be lubed. 10 WT non detergent oil is fine.

Dont type too much without replacing the rubber hammer. Clear vinyl tubing 7/16 OD, 5/16 ID, cut to 7/8 inch long. Clean old hammer best you can and slide the tubing all the way on to the bottom of the hammer T.

Subject: [GreenKeys] Model 32 Keyboard/Distributor Linkage question

I finally got the M32 from Ft Worth I bought a couple months ago transported home yesterday.
I've been learning a lot about it since I don't have any previous experience with this model.
It appears I'm missing a piece as the print head was not secured to the base and tipped out during some previous transport.
The parts manual refers to it as the H-Plate part 180977.

Is there anything else that supports this part other than the arm coming from the distributor and the keyboard end, 186253?
I see a slot on one end, but don't see anything else associated with the slot.
Also, if anyone has one of these laying around, I'd be interested in it.

I was able to get it to print the WRU wheel contents, punch some tape and get characters from the keyboard to print if I manually held down the Distributor release down where the keyboard would have.

Happy New Year!
