Can you let me know where in the UK you found your supplies? Was that for 1" paper tape as well as typing roll?

I too have a tractor feed, I am pretty new to 33 restoration so I may have this completely wrong, but your problem with constant line feed sounds like the form feed mechanism becoming engaged somehow. I have the opposite problem that the line feed mechanism does not work at all. It has been a little while since I looked at this now and I no longer recall the details, but that might be a good place to start looking.

As for paper, I am in the UK and I did manage to find a supplier here. I seem to recall there being a supplier in the US too, it should be just a matter of spending a bit of time with your favourite search engine.
