Could be indeed. But my best efforts using fingers and a magnet (on the end of a telescoping rod) have not produced any results. So I have to find a coupler. Yes, I will make sure nothing is in the way of the moving parts. Good point

I'll place my bet that it is hiding under a mount bracket or something like that.

I WOULD NOT turn on the motor until you're sure that it isn't stuck somewhere inside one of the mechanisms - will bum you out big time if it is!
