Does anyone know if the 6402 UART is functionally equivalent to the TMS 6011 UART?

One would think that 'a UART is a UART', but it seems to me that back when guys were
making UART regenerators and speed converters that some UARTs were better than others,
and in a few cases, one might not be 'plug and play' equal to another.  I seem to
remember some 'heartburn' with STOP Pulse lengths not working the same with different
UARTs.  OR, it could be my failing memory, too!

I'll say more about this once I have a definitive answer to the leading question above.
