Roy - have added these notes  to the   SMECC  TU   files.. never would have 
thought  of the shorting  plug!     that's  for a the  added   data---\\

You may have to put a  shorting plug in the Serial In jack:

1) In my unit I find a shorting  plug in the "Serial In" jack.  You DO have 
to short that jack to get it  to run normally.
