Dave has done some great work for 32 and 33 owners!

If you order some rubber hammers, you will have to thoroughly clean your old metal hammer.  Remove the vinyl tubing sub by cutting it to split it open. 

Start cleaning with solvent on a string (Daves idea) and that works well.  The metal hammer groove should be fully cleaned, square inside the groove, not rounded as you look inside.  Takes some patience.  Maybe another small tool to fully remove the residue.  Remove the ribbon while cleaning.  Spin the new hammer as you install it until its fully in the groove.  You will only have to clean the groove thoroughly once.  Next time the old rubber (or vinyl) hammer should remove easily.
