[GreenKeys] 8 bit punch/reader?

Hi folks. I am thinking about acquiring an IMSAI 8080 or some similar aged vintage computer to relive some misspent youth.  I know nothing about 8 bit teletypes.  I have a 28 ASR and KSR and I have room for nothing else. Can someone tell me if teletype made an 8-bit reader/punch machine with no keyboard or printer? And if so, are they rarer than hens teeth?

Also, how rare is 1" tape? I am also considering researching some of the CNC punches/readers that can be found on wncsupply.com as some of these can use mylar tape - more durable and maybe more plentiful.  Of course, I have no idea whether these other kinds of punches/readers can be made usable with these old computers.

I guess this question is half vintage computer related and half teletype specific.
