It's a 50/50 mixture of Dextron II and Acetone. I purchased a 1943 Willys MB and the head had been off the motor, with the hood up, in the rain for unknown number of years. After disassembly it was noted the rear piston was rusted in place. Long story short, I kept the cylinder filled with Dextron II / Acetone for 2 weeks. On the 15th day I tapped out the piston with a hammer and block of wood. The cylinder wall wasn't even scored. I am a believer. Just mix it up well before application. (I use a Ball canning jar with lid) Kevin

Jeff,
I have heard of the article publish in Home Machinist Magazine ( or some similar name) and tried it out.
BUT: The ATF and the acetone would NOT mix. I was puzzled.
Can any one report success with the 50-50 ATF and acetone mixture? If so, What version of ATF did you use?
